Election in Japan is over. The result is as odd as Iran's presidential election. I somehow started to believe that Koizumi will take over the government before the election but now after the election, he not only did that but has left no opposing party in the parliament. I don't know if he's gonna do any good or bad for the nation. We just need to wait and see...Whatever is gonna happen, the point is just as the defeated party said: It's what has been CHOSEN by the nation. This is indeed democracy.
Despite all the criticisms against Koizumi, he's chosen by the nation now and it's awesome to see other parties realize this fact too!
These days the whole news has been on the great victory of Koizumi and if this is gonna bring any progress to the country in the future. Lots of specialists say people were tired of conservative politicians who promise long-term changes, people are willing for action and Koizumi is the one who will make action! People even don't know what is gonna be changed and if it's got any thing to do with their problems! Here is what I believe:
Japan will be getting Americanized day by day. Privatization will grow, The rich will get richer and the poor, poorer. Japan will loose a lot of what it's been making a boast of, all these years. Life is gonna be stressful day by day as people are to "Kill or be Killed". Poverty is gonna grow just as the streets of NY! And then is when the country will grow unsafe. Crime is wherever poverty is.
Now is it what the public want?! I don't know and I don't believe they'd know either what they've done or what they want to be done by their government!
Now what's democracy?! Who said democracy is good?! Haven't you seen parents who don't listen to their children and their reason is that children don't know what's good for them!
I don't wanna judge about western countries but I wanna say about middle east at least. Our problem is not that we don't have democracy! Even Japanese with over 90% educated don't realize what's good for them and so what would I expect from Iranian even if we'll have democracy some day?! We don't need to have democracy as it's gonna take ages for our nation to be educated to know what is better for them, and it's far beyond our ability. We first need a government which is moving toward education instead of filtering websites and censoring news. It's just the same as: Which came first? egg or hen?
Democracy is to let every single member of the nation contribute in their the government which means every one should have a good sight into politics as well as economics, international relations... To me it just looks like Utopia!

Our problem is that we don't have good parents! We need a humanitarian, wise, autocratic government who knows what is to be done for the nation and goes for action. It's much more realistic don't you think so?

I think that your judgment and interpretation is completely wrong.
First of all, we all know that the Japanese elections are not democratic. Secondly, Japan is still going up. You got to read the statistics before judgment. And you know, one of the positive points of Koizumi is his actions in economical areas.
The problem, however, is the young generation who is not the same as previous ones. I mean those who built Japan.
And about democracy in Iran, this is not our parent's faults. It is a nationwide cultural problem. You see many young people who do the wrong things in many aspects.
And finally, the recent election in Iran has been a fake probably. But not to that extent you suppose to be. Just call your friends in Iran and see how many people voted for the newly elected president...
Thanks for the comment
1. I don't know what is not democratic in Japan's election. Can you make yourself clear?
2. I know statistics. Japan economy has recovered a lot since last 5 years. But much of the money in the country is in the hands of less people! although it does give the same statistics as if the money is spread around the country. My interpretation was totally based on the critisicm by Japanese experts broadcasted on TV.
It's the same with the States. You don't feel at all the efect of great economy of USA when you walk in the streets of every single city. I'm telling that a government is there for the whole nation and is responsible for the welfare of the whole nation.
3. About Iran. The worst thing about us is that we only see people around ourselves. Tehran is a relatively educated and developed city, but is not the whole Iran. And Ahmadinejad is getting most of his votes from outside Tehran. We need to look nationwide.
I forgot to add a few links on wage diffrence graphs in Japan for recenr years. I am very sorry all the articles are in Japanese but the graphs are understandable
1.Society Cleavage graph:

2.Wage difference graph:

Cleavage in society is one of the serious problems that experts are talking of these years. You can look for different articles using keywords: Hinpu no sa, Kakusa, Shoto Kakusa...
(Again sorry my knowledge is coming of Japanese articles and speaches)
